Types of Membership

There are two types of membership:

Full Membership

Full membership is available to organisations that are committed to the vision, mission and aims of Micah Network and are actively engaged in mission. Full membership is open to:

  • Aid agencies: reflief, development and advocacy agencies
  • Mission organisations: activities include an integral mission approach
  • Academic / training institutes: theological / academic colleges, training organisations
  • Local congregations: local churches

Full members should be able to demonstrate that they:

  • Embrace, practice and promote integral mission
  • Are actively engaged in social action - relief, development or justice ministries
  • Are committed to the vision, mission and aims of Micah Network
  • Endorse and affirm our statement of beliefs

Associate Membership

Associate membership is available to organisations that want to become closely connected to Micah Network because they are committed to the vision and mission but they are not directly engaged in mission. Associate membership is available to:

  • Networks: like-minded and wanting to work together in promoting integral mission
  • Alliances: Christian organisations with an international presences with regional and / or national offices
  • Denominational secretariats: seeking to promote integral mission throughout their denomination
  • Individuals: committed to supporting Micah Network's vision and mission in a regular and interactive manner

Associate members should be able to demonstrate that they:

  • Promote integral mission theology, good practice and learning
  • Support mission - relief, development and justice ministries
  • Are committed to the vision and mission of Micah Network
  • Endorse and affirm our statement of beliefs

Membership Contributions

Members contribute to the running costs of Micah Network through:

  1. Annual membership contributions
  2. Donations (gift or tithe)
  3. Funding specific project initiatives
  4. Seconding staff - their time and expertise to carry out specific initiatives
  5. Advocating and promoting integral mission

Micah Network is committed to keeping running costs as low as possible. We rely on a small dedicated staff team to facilitate and implement the agreed strategy together with our members. We are grateful for the support of organisations and individuals who donate their time, money and other resources to forward our mission.

Workshops, consultations and conferences are planned to be self-funding with prices set to ensure cost recovery.

Membership contributions are a means of demonstrating solidarity and commitment to our share vision, mission and aims.

We also recognise that some implementing agencies who are part of Micah Network may have comparatively high annual income, but may have little discretionary income. In this case, we encourage the agency to determine an amount that is reasonable in these circumstances.
